Work

Since I finished exams, I seem to have been going full force and have replaced one kind of work with two others. I love what I am doing now much more than spending my days cooped up in the library with books though!

First up is work with Our Honest Foods - I am running their blog and generally writing cute things for them, which I love doing - a combination of writing and eating! Me and Lisa are running the blog (which can be found here) which is great also, working with your best friend :) They are a really awesome company selling Office and Home boxes of healthy, British snacks - I reviewed the box in the past (here) and they are just really great to work with. Hopefully it will help me decide what to do in the future! The blog is updated daily with reviews of different (all literally incredible) snacks so be sure to check it out :)

Then there is the complete opposite of that sort of work - modeling. I have made it on to the asos and urban outfitters websites (inside screams) - it is so much fun shooting for both of them! Definitely my favourite kind of modeling work - easy, quick and fun. Everyone that works at Asos and Urban is so lovely and amazing to work with, I feel very lucky! 

I also have had castings everyday, which the sporadic British sunshine has helped greatly! These can be quite exhausting, but I made some new model friends this week which was really nice and makes the travelling around from one place to another (to be seen for one minute!) much more fun. Next week looks pretty full on too, but I would rather be super busy than doing nothing!

inbetween revision this week

Every day is slowly blending into one, in a similar fashion to summer but not quite. I can no longer tell what day it is or when I last showered - revision has taken over. 

However my family came to stay this week so I got to take a small break and catch up with them! 

We went to see the new musical 'I Can't Sing' - I don't often see shows (such a waste living in London!!) but this was seriously great. Not being a huge fan of traditional musicals, this perfectly balanced up humour with great music.. and just plain randomness. 

It was at the London Palladium, and basically a rip-off of the X Factor. It was one of the most creative things I've seen in a long time, especially an actor who was puppeteer-ing a dog, dressed in black complete with knee pads and a skateboard on one shin to skate around on in true dog style! 

I mentioned random.. (spoiler) this is a spaceship which floats down at the end to suck away Simon Cowell! God knows how they managed to engineer a spaceship in a theatre over 100 years old, but they did it! The sets were all incredible! 

Another break I have taken this week (pretty much the only other break!) has been to do a shoot for a German photographer. You never really know what kind of shoot you are going to get - it can be anything from a 40-outfit look book cutting off your face completely to a completely wacky shoot with blue hair (had my fair share of those!) 

I am very pleased to say, this one was not wacky, nor difficult, nor freezing cold. It was a lovely day getting made over - something I was in dire need of due to hobo-revision period - and playing around Mayfair and Knightsbridge in the sunshine!

We were very lucky that the sun decided to come out - shoots outside are generally NOT my favourite thing because England is freezing/raining 90% of the time! It was a lucky day overall - everyone on set was so lovely and interesting (they were all from Germany), and of course talented! I was just glad they were doing their 'commercial' shoot that day instead of the apparently wacky-japanese high fashion one the day before! First stop was Harrods and the surrounding area - so beautiful!

We took lots of touristy pictures - all London cliches such as the pillar-red phone boxes, hopping out of a red bus, nipping in between black cabs and swinging around tube signs! 

H&M trench! May have to go buy myself one of these for Summer :) 

Its on days like this when I feel so lucky to be able to work as a model in London - I can't wait to start full time in a month when these exams are out of the way! 

Lately

This amazing weather we are having in London at the moment calls for nothing more than lazing around in the sun... preferably eating homemade pizza (as below).

Yesterday turned into a bit of a cooking day, with me (successfully!) cooking a 'skinny' shrimp curry and Dima deciding to make loads of dough to leave overnight and turn into amazing, thin crusted pizzas the next day. They are much healthier than normal, with the only ingredients being yeast, flour, water, tomatoes, mozarella and basil! :')

I had a shoot on Wednesday for a magazine submission which was a really lovely day in the (sort of) countryside, with an amazing team who were all really talented.

 

Wednesday was also mine and my boyfriend's 3 year anniversary so we went to The Rum Kitchen - which was increeedible and then to Eclipse for some watermelon martinis, conveniently located a 5 minute walk away from our flat!

This weekend is the first one i have off for ages so I am going to enjoy it at the park! <3

TIGI

This weekend I was lucky enough to be modeling in the TIGI show. It was absolutely insane - five days of preparation and rehearsals, 9am - 11pm! It was probably one of the best things I have ever done and the first proper job I have got this year so I was really happy to be a part of it.

We opened the show with a history section, one model representing each year of TIGI as it was their ten year anniversary. I was the Alexander Mcqueen 'reptile' - wearing the last dress he ever made!

also the videos playing in the background showing the history of the designs were amazing!

Next up were some hair demonstrations on stage, dancers and an incredible acrobatic act..



My favourite part of the show was this big party scene where the models were Vivienne Westwood inspired, listening to a piano player. Then a singer came out with flapper dancers and it was basically a massive party on stage. We got to watch it backstage before our final part!


Then for the finale we were 24 models, in groups of 3 with coordinating coloured wigs. We were supposed to be 'storm troopers', and marched out on stage with military music and amazing coloured LED lights on the stage.





then loads of confetti came down at the end when all of the team came out on stage to a standing ovation!


It was an amazing show, so lucky to have been a part of it.
