Paul Costelloe LFW

It feels like no time at all has passed since last September, but London Fashion Week is once again upon us. I was honoured to again walk in the beautiful Paul Costelloe show - a firm favourite of mine. His shows are always a pleasure to walk in, with absolutely gorgeous clothes, a lovely team backstage (making up the designing team, dressers, make up, hair etc!), incredible locations and generally lots of fun.

I think this is my favourite place I've ever had a show - the Waldorf Hilton Hotel London. What used to be a grand ballroom in the 30s had been turned into our runway, emblazoned with glitz, glamour and beauty.

The hair was done by Toni & Guy, and bouffant-ly huge again.

It takes a LOT of backcombing - see the video below!

I loved the make up which was just kept simple with a red lip. There was lots of backstage fun...

With Paul Costelloe, who is a such a lovely man

Before suddenly the show was about to start and we were being plied with champagne for that extra sparkle in our eyes and swing in our walks!

Opening the show

Paul outdid himself with the new collection - I fell totally in love with all of my outfits, which were all insanely flattering and the usual amazing quality. Here are a couple of others I loved -

Watch the video below to see the full show :)

A great start to LFW!

London Fashion Week 2014 - Paul Costelloe

LFW has come around again, and this time was pleasantly not as hectic as last year. For a model, fashion week means running around the week before in heels to 10-15 castings a day, where you waiting an hour or so at each in a long line of impossibly tall, thin, beautiful girls to be seen for a minute. You walk gracefully (aka stagger along in huge heels), give a card and are usually firmly dismissed with a 'thanks for trying' look, as you watch your card disappear into the mass of  'no' pile of cards.

But there are up sides. This year I just went to a few castings around my other jobs & had the pleasure of opening Paul Costelloe's collection on the first day of LFW. Backstage was unlike most fashion week shows (hectic, shouting, stress) and actually comparatively an oasis of calm as models read books and chatted whilst getting their hair backcombed to hell and back.

My hair went on quite a journey..
Starting relatively alright
To pretty much exploding..

To looking Bardot-esque beautiful! (Thanks to Toni&Guy)

The make up was kept pretty & natural

Then it was showtime! Held in Simpson's on the Strand, it was a perfect location for the show with happy, floaty music (pocket full of sunshine anyone?) and structured, fifties style dresses. They were so easy to wear and absolutely beautiful!

The reason we all look so happy is because Paul Costelloe is truly a lovely, talented man who had us all dancing with him backstage and taking gulps of champagne before we walked!

What I also found really lovely is that after the show, they opened up the catwalk and had us mingle with all the people who couldn't get in to the show after waiting for over an hour. It was a really nice idea and nice to have some champagne after the show!

All the models in the show were with my agency, Profile as it was an exclusive - all their girls are so lovely!

A real pleasure to walk in this show, thank you Paul Costelloe :)
